Dive Site Emergency Information Sheet
This is a narrower companion to a full Emergency Action Plan -- the site-specific facts worth having on hand and reviewed before any dive at a given location, even a routine one, so that information isn't being looked up for the first time during an actual emergency.
Site access
- Site name, address, and general coordinates
- Nearest road access for emergency vehicles
- Entry-point description
Communication and medical
- Local emergency number for the area
- Cellular coverage notes
- Nearest suitable medical facility and estimated travel time
Coordinates can be sensitive
A site's exact coordinates are sometimes worth keeping private -- a permit-access location, a site the operator doesn't publicize, or simply personal preference. A good information sheet lets you mark coordinates private while still keeping them available to your own team.
